Holly Cairns has been involved in the horse world throughout her life, launching Equine Services SA in April 2010. Prior to this Holly was managing Summerveld Equine Hospital. A qualified Provincial Level 1 Show-jumping Course Designer Holly hosts regular "Summerveld Shows" training show-jumping shows at Summerveld Country Lodge. Actively involved in horse welfare, her passion being the Thoroughbred, Holly worked as a volunteer at the Kloof Horse Care Unit and was a founding member & Director of the Coastal Horse Care Unit, resigning from the Board of Directors in 2011. Holly studied at the University of Kwazulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg, graduating in 1997 with a BSc. (Zoology & Biochemistry) & continuing to achieve a BSc. Agriculture Honours (Animal Science), where she worked closely with the late Dr. Dave Mullins & Bayer Animal Health in designing a deworming program for the studs in the Natal Midlands. Holly then worked at Summerhill Stud as the Foal Manager, followed by a stint in the UK working as a medical rep, and then Australia, working temporarily for the Randwick Equine Practice, assisting in taking X-rays and prepping the yearlings for the veterinary side, and taking them through the Sales. Now settled in Summerveld she is out to make a positive contribution to the equine world - & in particular the Thoroughbred!
