Focusing on the training and development of young horses and riders in show etiquette and procure in preparation for competitive/affiliated show-jumping. All levels welcome! A relaxed, confidence-building, professionally-run show learning environment where in-arena assistance from qualified instructors is permitted – perfect for horses and riders just starting to venture out to shows, those working through ‘issues’, or being brought back into show-jumping fitness. Offering a cost-effective alternative for the rider that enjoys competing at recreational levels without pressure. Encouraging flowing courses appropriate to the level by Provincial Level 2 Course Designer. Rider’s safety is paramount – correct safety attire must be worn at all times and all-out competitive rounds are discouraged. Rosettes and sponsored prizes to be won, medic on stand-by, catering available.
Originally launched as Summerveld Shows in April 2012 at Summerveld Country Lodge, Equine Services SA Shows has since established a consistently successful and well-supported track-record – with over 60 training shows just at Summerveld Lodge; 13 training shows at the Shongweni Club; two at La Belle Ferme, and one at Galloping Winds. The ‘Show-cross’ shows were launched by Equine Services SA Shows at the Shongweni Club in December 2018.
Since Covid the training shows will be back at Summerveld Lodge on a mostly monthly basis, with shows on a Sunday towards month end – please join the mailing list and WA group to be kept in the loop with show dates.

Terms of Entry
Right of admission reserved. Participation and attendance confirms your agreement to ALL Terms of Indemnity. Equine Services SA and affiliates shall in no way be held responsible for any damage, loss, theft or injury sustained by owners of horses, riders, competitors, members of the public or any other person attending whatsoever. It is compulsory to wear a discipline-approved helmet while mounted, body-protectors and/or air-jackets highly recommended. Horse and rider combinations may compete at the same level or below as what they are competing affiliated/at SANESA. The organiser reserves the right of entry/to cancel/combine/limit classes at their discretion.
Attendees agree to:
- Abide by training show rules of conduct
- Undertake not to bring a horse suspected of any kind of infectious disease
- Withdraw if subsequent to entry the horse should fall ill or unsound
- Entry fee may be carried forward if scratched prior to show-day
- A portion of entry money collected may be retained in the event of an unforeseen cancellation (e.g. bad weather/dangerous conditions)
- Stallions display a yellow disc/ribbon in the tail; horses that kick display a red ribbon
- It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure all vaccinations are current
Terms of Pre-entry:
Completed signed entry form and payment proof to be received by close of the Thursday before a show, unless otherwise stated. Running order off pre-entries will be posted to the show WA group the afternoon prior to show day. Updated entries and class start times will be posted to the group during the day.

Pole on Ground up to 1m, flowing easy courses with no combinations in a spacious grass arena. A confidence-building learning environment suitable for entry-level show riders and horses – all welcome!
Show fees:
PoG: R100/round
30cm upwards: R120/round
Pre-entry Ground Levy: R130 per horse
Pre-entries to be received by close of Thursday before a show
Enter on the day Ground Levy: R180 per horse
